My client is looking for a financial systems Data Analyst. The company is described as an established and expanding player in the worldwide finance industry. The job opportunity is within the Finance Data Systems Analysts Team in the Group and Enterprise Services Technology department.

Role and responsibilities:

* Investigating and documenting data issues found by the business and automated reconciliation systems

* Interrogating data to identify and document the root cause of issues

* Collaborating with stakeholders to follow up and resolve problems

* Developing strong working relationships with business stakeholders and IT professionals

* Identifying future innovations and technologies to improve data quality and reporting

* Demonstrating a commitment to data quality and taking ownership of issues to see them through completion

* Emphasizing customer service and dedication to the role

Qualifications and Experience:

* At least 5 years of experience working with data in roles such as a developer, data analyst, or test analyst, preferably in financial institutions

* A focus on data quality and dedication to issue resolution

* The ability to work closely with stakeholders and various teams

Technical Job Description:

* Conducting data interrogation activities across various SQL data instances

* Producing high-quality deliverables, including materiality analysis and defect stories

* Building strong relationships with business and IT teams, as well as external third parties

* Supporting system and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) teams

* Contributing to the development of the Data Analyst function

* Adhering to IT System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and methodology

Must-Have:

* At least 5 years of Data Analysis experience in an MS SQL and/or Azure environment

* A minimum of 2 years of exposure to solution design, data warehousing, modelling and business intelligence

* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies or other SQL variants

* A strong understanding and passion for data quality

* The ability to explain technical data issues to business stakeholders using business terminology

* Expertise in data preparation tools like Alteryx Designer, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and MS Power Platform

Beneficial:

* Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, or similar collaboration tools

* Data mining cables

* Experience with data/system integration and dependency identification

* Experience in an agile and hybrid development environment

* Exposure to large-scale projects/programs and working with third-party suppliers
