For sale my favourite toy, Mazda MX-5 in Blue.
It's been a very reliable and fun car to drive around Scotland's epic roads, but now we are 3 and a 2 seater isn't enough :-) When the weather is nice I use it as a commuter and sometimes I take it out for a quick spin in the evening, that's why it has to go, not being driven enough.
It's sharp and nimble to drive, simple and powerful, a pleasure to drive. This car puts a smile on your face. ♡♡
It's older so well built, simple and efficient Japanese engineering. The previous owner was also a Miata enthusiast and took good care of it.
Good bits:
☆Just passed MOT with one (non) advisory;
☆Low mileage ~84k miles, services done yearly (never done more than 10k/year) last major service in Nov 22;
☆Diff oil change in Nov 22;
☆Good tyres;
☆Solid underneath, undersealed in Nov 22;
☆New battery in 2021;
☆Soft top in perfect condition with heated rear window. Manual operated soft top - fast, efficient and failproof.
☆New back box (not loud);
☆Bluetooth connectivity for calls and audio - decent audio quality;
☆Clean heated leather seats - nice and tidy interior;
☆Heated and adjustable door mirrors;
☆ 3 spoke multifunctional leather steering wheel;
☆Brand new leather gear stick and handbrake covers (+ an extra set with blue stitching);
☆Aircon - who needs it - this car has to be driven topless :) ;
☆R/C central locking;
☆ chrome luggage rack on top of bootlid (not installed now);
♡2.0i petrol engine - the most reliable on this generation [~160bhp] with 5 speed manual gearbox, RWD;
♡ LSD differential, press DSC OFF (FUN mode ON) and hold tight :)
♡ doors poly bushes (red) for increased stiffness and better handling (original ones coming with the car as well);
Bad bits:
•Rust - Paint starts bubbling around wheel arches, not too bad but it's not perfect. Quote received from a MX-5 rust repair specialist - contact will be provided :).
Garage kept on my ownership, never been out on a rainy day or salty roads.
The soft top drains have been cleaned regularly to avoid rusty inner arches ???? (drain cleaning tool and instructions for future use coming with the car)
Things to do in the near future:
Claybar paint decontamination and wax for glossy summer look ????;
Genuine fog lights and stalk to be fitted - now it has some cheap aftermarket ones that I never had time to get replaced;
