Sports Coach - Chelmsford - Immediate start - 2 days per week

Are you passionate about using sports as a means of empowering and engaging Secondary students? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join a fantastic school, based Chelmsford. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students aged between 11 - 16 years old.

Position: Sports Coach

Contract Type: October 2023 - July 2024, with the option of a permanent contract at the end

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Lead and support a small group of students in various sports and physical activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
* Adapt sports sessions to meet the individual needs and abilities of students with diverse special needs, fostering an inclusive environment.
* Use sports as a tool to promote social interaction teamwork, and emotional well-being among students.
* Collaborate with the school's educational team to incorporate sports-based activities into the curriculum and individualized education plans.
* Implement behavior management strategies to create a positive and structured sports environment.
* Provide guidance and encouragement to students, fostering a sense of achievement and self-confidence.
* Participate in school events and extracurricular activities, promoting sports involvement and student engagement.
* Maintain accurate records and progress reports, tracking students' development and achievements in sports.

Ideal Skill Sets:
* Previous experience as a Sports Coach, ideally working with students in Secondary Schools.
* A genuine passion for using sports as a means of promoting physical health, social skills, and emotional well-being.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
* Ability to adapt sports sessions to cater to the unique needs and interests of individual students.
* Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies for working with students with special needs.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive sports environment.
* Relevant coaching certifications or qualifications in sports coaching or related fields would be advantageous.
