Behavioural Support Assistant needed in Barnsley

A SEND academy in Barnsley is looking for an experienced Behavioural Support Assistant to join their team. The school is for children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. The post requires an individual who can work as part of a team, support the class teacher, and manage negative behaviour effectively.

The position is on a supply basis with the potential for a long-term contract. The Behavioural Support Assistant will be supportive and persistent and able make a positive influence on the students education.

The post will be working across Key Stages 3 and 4 (ages 11-16). You will be able to engage pupils that have become disengaged from Education and encourage and offer them support and guidance, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

The suitable Behavioural Support Assistant must:

Be able to ensure students safety and act as a positive role model
Must be positive, enthusiastic, and dedicated with exceptional behaviour management skills
Have 6 months experience working with children who have SEND
Able to work as part of a team that are dedicated and committed and have a child-centred approach to learning in all they do
