We are proud to be working with our client, a global CRO who proudly holds over 15 years of experience in the Life Science industry. Our client participates in the drug discovery of some of todays most pressing challenges in oncology studies and is looking for a Licensed Animal Technician to join their in vivo team.
This role would be perfect for a Licensed Animal Technician who has extensive in vivo experience or a Research Scientist with experience with rodents.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out in vivo techniques including dosing and reporting clinical signs
* Carry out surgical skills including anaesthesia and aseptic techniques
* Early detection of signs of ill health/loss of condition via clinical observations
* Understand the current expectations of Home Office legislation (e.g. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA)
* To be responsible for appropriate records, including helping the establishment licence holder to keep suitable records of the health of the animals (under the supervision of the Named Veterinary Surgeon)
* Support training on experimental procedures in line with current regulatory and/or legislative requirements
* To be responsible for the generation and provision of high-quality data production and reports to respective Study Directors
* May participate and provide training in general unit sanitation and husbandry
* To ensure that appropriate levels of sterility and barrier containment are maintained when performing duties
* To review and maintain SOPs, working in association with QMS systems to ensure high quality is maintained
Requirements:
* Personal Licensee Holder (Modules A to C) is a MUST
* Highly skilled and will support training /mentoring to junior personnel in animal handling and husbandry, welfare and basic surgical skills
* Skilled at and may provide training in aseptic techniques
* Knowledgeable about the work being undertaken and with the Home Office Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986
* Proficient in the use of computers
* Some relevant experience particularly in oncology models
Due to the location of the site, you must be able to drive. The correct candidate must also hold a personal license.
