We are seeking a strategic, hands-on, roll up your sleeves Head of Content to elevate our content marketing efforts and join the Creative Services management team. This role will work closely with the Head of Creative Services, collaborating alongside the Creative Services management team, digital marketing and product marketing teams. The Head of Content will play a pivotal role in developing our content strategy, aligning it with our business goals, and overseeing the creation of content that resonates with our audiences. While this position requires a strategic mindset, it also encourages a passion for writing and content creation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
* Content strategy development: Define and execute the content marketing strategy. Ensure that content aligns with and supports the overall business objectives.
* Management: Line manage a team of Content Producers and Web Editors, overseeing their workload and ensuring the quality of their output, and fostering their growth and development. Building a pool of freelance copywriters.
* Content creation: Create various types of content such as blogs, external comms, whitepapers, videos, and websites, catering to different stages of the sales funnel while focusing on providing value.
* Analysis and reporting: Work with Digital Marketing to analyse data to assess the performance of content marketing efforts. Share insights to track the effectiveness of content initiatives.
* Brand ideation and awareness: Develop messaging, and tone of voice, and identify key selling points (KSPs) to maintain brand consistency and resonate with the target audience.
* Authentic storytelling: Champion authentic storytelling by leveraging current students and alumni to create compelling narratives.
* Web content management: Write and execute web content strategies in collaboration with digital marketing teams. Publish web content and build new pages using a headless CMS (Kontent by Kentico).
* Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Digital Marketing teams to ensure content is tailored to prospective students and meets SEO, UX, and device-specific best practices.
ABOUT YOU
* Proven experience in content marketing and strategy development.
* Exceptional writing and editing skills, with an understanding of writing for a Gen-Z audience.
* Proficiency in SEO and web content best practices.
* Experience with CMS platforms, preferably headless CMS
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive content decisions.
* Leadership and management skills to oversee a team and mentor junior members.
* Creative thinking and the ability to develop engaging content across various formats.
* Excellent organisational abilities.
* A deep understanding of current industry trends and evolving marketing strategies.
* An understanding of writing for student/young audiences.
* Experience producing visual content and interviewing.
* Experience working within regulatory or compliance frameworks.
* Experience producing content for global audiences, for whom English is not a first language.
* Good knowledge of social media content marketing.
* Experience working in the higher education sector and understanding of the sector.
* Experience working within a complex, matrix environment.
