You know Human Resources. You understand all the things that happen in an HR department; creating contracts, ensuring compliance, drafting training documents etc. Then theres all the in-person interaction bits; recruitment, employee guidance, grievances, disciplinaries, dismissals, assisting with payroll and projects.
But you want more than the standard stuff, dont you?
What about the HUMAN elements of HR? The bits of the job that turn a company into a community; the parts of the role that arent just duties and responsibilities but are key to bringing people into an organisation together.
Thats what our client is offering.
Yes, of course you will still perform all the duties that your CIPD (or equivalent) training prepared you for, and you will still use your knowledge of UK employment law to ensure best practice is followed with all HR matters that land on your desk. But you will also be heavily involved in writing the company newsletter, organising company teambuilding events, parties and charity days, showing off your organisational skills and letting your fun side shine!
Youll also get to mentor junior team members and interns, leading them with your HR expertise and guiding them to be a great future advisor like you. By demonstrating excellent record-keeping skills, maintaining a positive and professional image and identifying training needs, you will help them to ensure that the HR department runs smoothly and efficiently.
You wont do this by yourself, of course. Youll be supported by the Head of HR together with HR Admin Support, who will help you to provide outstanding first line support, advice and guidance on a range of employment matters, ensuring that the various teams across the company are happy and content.
Regarding qualifications, youll need to be CIPD qualified or have relevant experience in a similar role. But an outgoing personality, flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in are the most important factors, as youll be liaising with internal staff, external recruitment agencies and the general public via professional and social media networking sites. Your confidence will also help you when presenting online and face-to-face in meetings, interviews and at events.
If you want to know more about the company, we can discuss it more when you get in contact, but we can tell you that the culture is inclusive with a close, family-feel. Whilst business growth and profitability remain at the forefront of day-to-day operations, equal importance is placed on employee well-being and satisfaction and on community and charity support. The company operates a range of employee benefits including an Employee Assistance Programme, free Personal Pension Assessments, personal bonuses and a company bonus scheme based on annual performance. The company also offer 22 days annual leave entitlement plus an additional (non-contractual) get things done day.
