Families Together Plus (FT+) Service provide intensive support to children from the age of 12 to 18, who are at risk of being accommodated into care or support rehabilitation plans of children returning to their families.
Our workforce represents the diverse families of Birmingham. All FT+ cases are jointly worked with either: Assessment Short Term Intervention, Safeguarding or the Children in Care teams. Our intervention is from 4 to 12 weeks.

Cases span from a wide range of complex issues some of which include family conflict, missing from home, Contextual Safeguarding and substance misuse.
We work closely with other agencies and local services and help to embed a new approach that improves behaviours, relationships, confidence, aspiration, employability, living conditions and mental and physical health. We involve the whole family and significant support networks to identify strengths and introduce new coping strategies.
As a Senior Practitioner with systemic training, you will bring your professional discipline/experience to the team and will work intensively and flexibly with families. You will need to have completed training in family therapy and systemic practice and have significant experience of working therapeutically with young people and their families where there is challenging behavior and/ or relationship breakdown.
We will welcome applicants who have experience of supporting staff via consultations or short time limited interventions as well as mentoring and training. If you are positive, passionate and committed to making a difference to young people and their families and enjoy the challenge this brings we would like to invite you to join our team.
We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate an interest in evidence-based practice and research and will be keen to develop their knowledge of Systemic Psychotherapy and intervention skills. If you are able to work autonomously but also value the support and guidance provided by the Team Managers we would like to hear from you. We will provide you with access to training and regular professional clinical supervision and consultation. In order to be considered for this role please complete an application form demonstrating how you meet the competencies required as outlined in the attached person specification.
CVs will not be accepted.
