A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Goods-In Inspector to join us at Express Engineering, an Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the North East of England. With 50 years of experience in machining and assembling critical subsea components and systems, we are a market leader in the specialised products we produce.

The main duties of the Goods-In Inspector role will include:

* Dimensional & visual inspection of incoming goods to ensure they meet the quality standards & quantity requirements.

* Examination of products to identify defects such as poor surface finish, paint defects, deterioration of surfaces, etc.

* Marking & stencilling of finished parts.

* Completing technical documentation and certification

* Identification of non-conformities against specification requirements, liaising with Quality Team to resolve issues.

* Product control, segregation of defective and good quality parts.

* Raising internal supplier reject reports.

* Coverage of goods out inspection as required.

* Working in accordance with the internal Quality Management System

To be successful in this Goods-In Inspector role at Express Engineering, you will:

* Proficient at reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

* Have experience of visual and dimensional inspection activities using manual measuring equipment, such as micrometres, verniers, plug gauges, screw plugs, ring gauges.

* Have knowledge of surface requirements and measurement.

* Be professional and confident.

* Be proactive and highly organised, able to work independently.

* Have a customer focus.

* Have a genuine desire to learn and develop.

* Be proficient in using Microsoft Office programs.
