Fleet Maintenance Manager

£45,000 plus £8,000 car allowance
Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a Fleet Maintenance Manager for a manufacturing company based in West Thurrock.
They have nine sites in the UK and one in the USA. The company has an annual turnover more than £125 million, employing more than 500 people worldwide.
As the Fleet Maintenance manager you will be responsible for managing the fleet maintenance team, and also planning & controlling the maintenance of the company's HGV Fleet throughout the UK.
In-house by means of the vehicle workshops and externally via various contract maintenance service providers.
Job Role:
Customer Service:
* Control the workflow of the Vehicle Workshops ensuring that it is utilised efficiently without exceeding an average of 80% capacity.
* Ensure a quick and efficient turnaround of the company fleet to service customers.
* Work with the Regional Transport Managers to ensure that the desired delivery performance is achieved.
* Monitor and measure downtime of the fleet and take corrective action if levels become excessive.
* Monitor specific downtime of the Rigid vehicles and ensure that availability is maximised.
* Ensure that the Vehicle Workshops adheres to all 3rd Party Maintenance agreements.
* Ensure that all 3rd party maintenance is charged out on time and in accordance with the individual agreements.
Compliance:
* Ensure that the company fleet is maintained in accordance with Operators License and legislative conformities.
* Ensure that the Fleetmastr system is fully utilised to monitor / measure the efficiency of service schedules, MOTs etc.
* Maintain all Microlise information.
* Audit all Contract Maintenance Providers on an annual basis.
* Assist the Transport Compliance Manager to achieve Earned Recognition.
* Monitor the Earned Recognition KPIs through Fleetmastr and take remedial action where required to ensure that all KPIs are green.
* Ensure all company Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and corrective action is taken when & if required.
Costs:
* Manage the HGV Fitting team to ensure that they are fully optimised %.
* Ensure that work standards are achieved and take corrective action where they are not.
* Control labour hours and overtime.
* Ensure stock control measures are in place to keep the fleet on the road whilst avoiding unnecessary costs.
* Provide cost analysis as determined by the Transport General Manager.
Skills Required:
* Experience in a managerial in a fleet environment
* Experience within a HGV workshop
* A good understanding od maintenance and fitting of HGVs
* A high level of Health & Safety awareness and compliance.
* ADR experience is desirable
* There will be travel required to the different sites a few times a year
