Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Wokingham, with the flexibility to travel to London a couple of times a week. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of our construction and maintenance projects while maintaining a strong focus on cost management, quality, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and submit detailed project estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
* Conduct cost analysis, cost control, and cost forecasting for ongoing and upcoming projects.
* Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate cost reporting.
* Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts.
* Perform regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and cost implications.
* Manage change orders and variations, assessing their impact on the project budget.
* Provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, building regulations, and safety protocols.
* Prepare and present project financial reports to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficient in using industry-specific software and tools.
* Effective communication and negotiation skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
* Adept at working independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel to London as required.
