An exciting permanent position for an experienced Design Engineer for a prestigious company based in Telford.

The Role

As the designer engineer you will be responsible for development of all machines from the first stage of concept and design right through to a compilation. This is a diverse role as all machines are completely bespoke and tailored to customer requirements from a wide range of industries including aerospace and automotive sectors.

During projects you will ensure that all builds are completed a to high standard and specification, overseeing machine build times are working to schedule, communicating with the shops floor team to guarantee any adjustments and alterations are made accurately.

Main Responsibilities

* Responsible for completion of all orders of machines from technical drawings to fully developed machines with customer satisfaction

* Communicating with all departments including purchasing to ensure part availability, Tool room for inhouse part manufacturing and shop floor to ensure that the design allows easy build and long-term maintenance for the client

* Overseeing electrical design work

* Correctly document any changes and maintain all updates.

* To help mentor and develop the skills of the junior designer

Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience with machine building and design is essential.

* Excellent communication skills

* Can do and positive attitude with attention to detail.

* Experience with Inventor / Fusion 360

* Strong knowledge of different engineering materials

* Capability to work to deadlines.

Desirable

* Knowledge of robotics

* Mentoring skills

Hours of work:

08:30 17:00 Monday to Thursday

08:30 15:00 Friday

Salary

£45,000 - £48,000 negotiable on experience
