To assist the Branch Manager in the promotion of effective, efficient and profitable customer services.
Key Responsibilities of a Branch Supervisor
* Assisting the Branch Manager with outgoing pro-active telephone sales calls as required.
* Assisting with the supervision of the in-coming sales desk function within the branch and assuming a major role in dealing with customers telephone orders, enquiries and queries.
* Helping maintain an efficient trade counter sales facility.
* Supervision of the branch stock control system.
* Responsible for ensuring that the branch stocks are kept, in line with Company policy, demand and lead times.
* Supervision of all goods inwards and outwards facilities, including the accuracy of all related paperwork.
* Primarily responsible for ensuring that the warehouse and trade counter areas be maintained in a clean and tidy condition, including the correct location of all stocks.
* Responsible for ensuring that all branch paperwork including, in particular, customers and suppliers orders and picking notes, are prepared and maintained in accordance with Company policy. Assisting with the preparation and timely flow of all paperwork to Head Office.
* Assist with correctly handling of company cash and banking where necessary
* Responsible for assisting in ensuring the effective operation of the branch credit control system, in particular, adherence of temporary and permanent stop, and applications for credit accounts.
* Supervisory control of all internal branch staff together with assistance in their training and development as required.
* Responsible for assisting in ensuring that wherever possible every opportunity is taken to identify and maximise sales and profit opportunities within the broad lines laid down by the Manager.
* Taking every opportunity to ensure safekeeping of the Company property and contributing in every way possible to the prosperity of the branch and the Company.
* Ensuring that the Companys confidential information is not divulged to any third party or discussed with unauthorised members of staff.
* Assisting in the close control of branch overheads in particular, light, heat, fuel, telephone and stationery.
* Advising on any relevant matters concerning customers - Particularly service, pricing and problems. Also keeping up to date with competitors activities.
In the absence of the Branch Manager the Branch Supervisor will assume responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the branch, which will include the flow of paperwork into Group Services.
