My client is looking for a Design Engineer in Stonehouse due to expansion.
My client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of skid-mounted rotary compressors for the oil and gas, renewables, chemicals, and energy/power generation industries.
They invest in advanced machinery and seek out opportunities to reduce their carbon footprint, whilst their streamlined production flow allows them to deliver on time.
The Design Engineer will be working closely with the Project Engineering and Blowers Teams using Solid Works 3D and Draft sight 2D to produce drawings that meet client and production requirements. These can range from component parts to full skid package layouts, both mechanical and electrical (wiring).
For this role you will need to hold a suitable engineering qualification or have proven demonstrable experience.
This role would ideally suit somebody who values the importance of attention to detail and has the ability to work using their own initiative whilst also being part of a team. You will need the ability to quickly establish effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
* Applying standard engineering practice and reviewing client contract specific requirements - in particular noting materials of construction, inspection requirements and regulatory requirements.
* Taking part in production/project review meetings to ensure deadlines are met.
* Generate Bills of Materials for sub-assemblies and piping, layouts.
* Maintaining drawing logs and documented evidence of issues for the production department as per ISO 9001 requirements.
* Assisting with the raising other technical documentation as required to meet Roots contractual commitments.
* Production of material and weld traceability maps. Assisting in collating Manufacturing Record Books.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a desire to set hire standards of work performance. You will need excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workload with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.
