Mechanical Design Engineer, Burnley (SolidWorks) Machinery Manufacturing

We are working closely with a machinery manufacturing business in Lancashire that require a Mechanical Design Engineer with the key role of designing machinery and other forms of components and equipment.

Mechanical Design Engineer Duties:
- Develop design solutions responsive to specific functional needs.
- Record assumptions, trade-offs, and calculations related to the design concept within the projects documentation.
- Employ Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies to pinpoint technical risks.
- Assist in the coordination of design activities in collaboration with the project manager.
- Track and document technical risks and issues throughout the duration of the project.
- Offer technical guidance to the publications team for the development of product manuals, construction guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Implement and adhere to New Product Development (NPD) procedures and tools in project work.
- Participate in enhancing the NPD process through continuous improvement efforts.

Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:
- 5 years of design engineering experience, ideally within a relevant role/industry.
- Working experience with SolidWorks
