Setter Out / Draughtsperson Restaurant & Bar Fit-Out

A highly sought-after opportunity to work with the UKs leading commercial shopfitting company. Having been established for over 20 years they pride themselves on the quality of their work and have established a reputation for their high-quality projects from conception through to completion within the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors.

Due to a couple of staff retiring after having long illustrious careers with my client they now have opening for two new Setter Out / CAD technicians / draughtspersons.

You will have the opportunity to work a variety of projects ranging from £5,000 - £3M with a number of well-known clients within the pub and restaurant industry.

A joinery background would be beneficial, and this is an ideal position for someone looking to move up out off the shopfloor and into the office.

You will be responsible for surveying sites; drawing up plans / wall layouts / door schedules and then produce the drawings to the client / designer for approval of the joinery items that will be included in the project. The drawings produced are then used by the clients manufacturing teams to build the bars, other joinery metal work and upholstered items the client has become renowned for.

The Duties

You will be reporting directly to the Senior CAD Technician / Production Manager

* Site Surveys

* Preparation of cladding drawings for the production team.

* Engage with both the production team and senior CAD technician to ensure compatibility of designs and details are encompassed within the cladding package whilst advising both contracts and estimating of any issues or discrepancies that might arise at pre - construction stage.

* Co-ordinated with external draughtsperson(s) ensuring all information is clearly submitted and received.

* Compile procurement & Delivery schedules liaising with Contracts Managers.

* Preparation of material schedules for ordering.

* Checking all acknowledgements / delivery confirmations are correct.

* Checking all cladding drawings and material schedules prepared by the Draughtsperson(s)

* Managing the administration, preparation and organising of contract files

* Maintaining a dialogue with the suppliers to ensure competitive costs are achieved and any amendments or revisions are communicated and recorded.

* Ensure enquiries and /or tender packages are sent to sub-contractors and suppliers in time to meet programme (liaise with Contracts to undertake some of these tasks).

* Represent the company at site meetings. Take and distribute meeting minutes when it is agreed as the companys responsibility to do so.

* Maintain flow of timely information to the client regarding drawings and variations.

* On completion and hand over, provide CDM (Contract Design Manuals) documents prepared by the DO staff, containing all relevant information, user instructions and guarantees and ensure this is delivered to the client and signed for.

The Requirements

* Be experienced in working with bar and restaurant fit out projects.

* Be experienced in AUTOCAD.

* Have knowledge of CDM regulations and responsibilities.

* A joinery background would be beneficial.

* Take overall responsibility for the general running of the draughting element of the project worked on.

* Have an excellent understanding of the scope and requirements of each bespoke project.

* Work on your own initiative as well as with colleagues and the wider team on joint projects when required.

* Have excellent organisational and time management skills.

* Have excellent communication skills, able to communicate both verbally and in writing with a variety of personnel.

* Carry out such other duties as deemed necessary and are consistent with the job holders knowledge and skills for the satisfactory completion of contracts or for the attainment of the goals of the business.
