A highly sought-after opportunity to work with one of the leading multidisciplinary construction companies within the UK. Due to an increase in workload and projects coming on board, my client has identified the need for a new Project Manager. The successful candidate will be working on a variety of projects within the hospitality, residential and industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will be the main on-site contact of a scheme/project with the continuous support from our Construction Manager. You will monitor progress, oversee delivery of materials, and carry out safety checks and sort out any problems which could hold up work as they arise.
This job will entail working nationwide on a variety of projects which can range from £500,000 - £10M. Accommodation and expenses will be covered whilst you are working away.
The Duties
As a Design Project Manager, you will take responsibility for project delivery during preconstruction after contract award through to commencement on site. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Supervising construction workers and subcontractors.
* Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections.
* Monitoring build costs and project progress.
* Conducting quality and safety inspections.
* Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings.
* Maintaining quality control checks.
* Motivating the workforce Engaging stakeholders and effectively communicating project expectations, timelines, and milestones.
* Identifying potential project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Maintaining project documentation for future reference and continuous improvement.
The Requirements
* Main Contractor Experience Required.
* 5 Years experience minimum as a Project Manager. Preferably with a main contractor.
* A relevant degree in design, project management, construction, or a related field.
* Proven experience in project management and design.
* Proficiency in using CAD design software and project management tools (mainly excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across technical and non-technical staff.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
* Experience and ability to effectively manage key accounts and deliver business targets.
* Ability to develop and implement innovative service delivery in line with strategic business objectives.
* Ability to present effectively to client senior management teams and operation contract staff.
* Ability to make decisions and bring clarity to difficult situations.
* To have a working knowledge of project management systems and methodology and have the ability to implement these throughout the delivery process.
* To be able to control and manage a project from engagement through to successful completion with subcontractors, clients and internal teams.
* To have a detailed knowledge of interior finishes, construction techniques, interior fit out solutions and regulatory standards.
* Experience in managing and coordinating multiple construction trades on site whilst delivering to tight deadlines.
