Citizens Advice Bedford is currently seeking a Trainee Money Advice Caseworker.
You will be working as part of a diverse and well-used service, providing high-quality advice and support to service-users with money advice issues. The caseworker role will involve delivering specialist advice and casework on all money advice queries.
You might be completely new to money advice and/or seeking a change in career, essential to this role is the ability to absorb information and put into practise what you have learned. This role is not for everyone - as a trainee you will assessed often, it will at times be pressurised and the learning trajectory to become a qualified money advice caseworker is steep. You will require a basic knowledge of debt and the types of debt issues that may arise. You will possess excellent client care skills and be able to undertake intensive training, learn quickly and have the ability to put this into practice.
This is a client-facing role so the successful applicant must be presentable and able to deal confidently with members of the public, including individuals from different backgrounds or with complex needs. Due to the requirement to accurately record all advice appointments, you must have a high level of literacy. A positive attitude to hard work, willingness to learn and the ability to take constructive feedback is required. The successful candidate must also show a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service.
