Are you an experienced NDT Technician with experience in manufacturing or engineering? Are you seeking a new role that matches your career development and aspirations? Well, read on!! My client has secured a number of major manufacturing projects and have an orderbook bursting at the seams!! They urgently need to recruit NDT Technicians to work within their engineering department. (NB These are shift roles 6-2 & 2-10, earlies or lates and no weekends!!).
Role Profile
The NDT Technicians will ensure that all relevant product manufactured conforms to the design specifications, batch cards and required industry standards using proven Non-Destructive mechanisms with a specific focus on Fluorescent Penetrant.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
The NDT Technicians will:
* Promote a positive EHS Culture
* Follow all relevant Safe Systems of Work and report EHS concerns
* Understand and comprehend the relevant codes, standards and control documents that are used by the client and ensure full compliance at all times.
* Set up and standardise equipment to process components through the fluorescent dye penetrant process utilising the agreed customer and data card techniques and specifications.
* Interpret and evaluate the acceptance / rejection of a component and document the results accordingly
* Conduct regular system performance checks in accordance with the agreed standards
* Provide training, coaching and mentoring to new starters and apprentices (where applicable)
* Investigate and document accordingly any issues or non-compliances.
* Read and understand Engineering drawings, the basic method of manufacture of components and inspection techniques that are primarily used to check the component
* Undertake regular maintenance and record keeping on the key equipment for the department.
* Part of the focal team for any NDT Certification audits that occur on site.
* Ability to write Technique instructions in accordance with the client work Instructions and customer standards subject to Level 3 approval.
* Be subject to annual Performance Reviews and continuous Defect Rate Monitoring
* To carry out any other duties that may be necessary to meet departmental objectives
Person Specification
The NDT Technicians will have:
* Experience within an Inspection environment / aerospace manufacturing experience and / or technical experience or equivalent.
* Effective communication skills and ability to interact at all levels
* Flexible willing to rotate across the business where required
* Integrity within the role and in all aspects of working relationships
* Ability to work as a team and on own initiative as required
* Confidence to challenge incorrect processes, components, behaviours etc.
* Willingness to undertake initial and continuation formal training and examinations at the nominated off site training school.
* Willingness to undertake an annual medical
