Project Manager
Would you like to deliver business and enterprise IT Projects into the UK's Leading Defence Companies? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager at our site in The Strand - Preston.
As a Project Manager, you will have the overall responsibility for delivering business and enterprise IT projects to cost, timescale, quality and customer satisfaction. The projects could include both infrastructure and business applications as well as requiring experience in delivering business change to ensure successful release of Business benefits.
You will be expected to shape, mobilise, plan and lead projects whilst adhering to BAE Systems delivery assurance processes and will be required to collaborate across EITS and within the Projects and Transformation Team (P & T) to address lessons learned, share good practice and continuously improve delivery management.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a range of Projects and interact with internal stakeholders such as IT Leads across a range of business units, Security Engineer, Service teams and also with external 3rd party suppliers. This role could also lead to further opportunities within Shared Services and wider BAE Systems.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Manager will involve:
Manage the delivery of the project to time cost and schedule in accordance with business success criteria and customer satisfaction
Adheres to regulatory processes and procedures relevant to the project, including BAE Systems project management methodology and life cycle management
Collaborates with, and manages 3rd party suppliers to drive successful business outcomes
Identifies and manages project level risks, issues, opportunities and dependencies
Develops and manages realistic project plans, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate
Provides effective project reporting and stakeholder engagement as required by the project assurance framework, customers and stakeholders
Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances
Manages business change to ensure successful delivery of project outcomes and that business benefits are tracked and delivered
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Experience of working on enterprise-wide IT projects and successfully managing suppliers as part of the project delivery team
Proficient understanding of project lifecycle management
Experience of waterfall and agile project delivery methodologies
Proven experience of successfully delivering business outcomes (business change delivery) as part of project delivery
Can demonstrate experience of collaboration and cross functional working
Educated to a degree level or Equivalent experience
Some formal Project Management training, preferably PRINCE2
Desirable:
ITIL training/qualification
Agile Training/Qualification

Salary: Circa £45,000
