COMPANY

Built Environment organisation with a great reputation across the Facilities Management sector, to join as a Mechanical Pipefitter.

ROLE

Pipe Installation: Install and assemble piping systems according to blueprints, specifications, and building codes. This includes measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipes to required shapes and sizes.

Layout and Planning: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to plan the layout and installation of piping systems. Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure accurate placement of pipes.

Material Selection: Choose appropriate pipes, fittings, and other materials for each project based on the type of fluid being transported, pressure requirements, and environmental factors.

Welding and Soldering: Perform welding, brazing, and soldering tasks to connect pipes and fittings. Ensure proper sealing and joint integrity.

System Testing: Conduct pressure tests and inspections to verify the integrity and functionality of completed piping systems. Identify and rectify any leaks or issues.

Repairs and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning piping systems. Perform routine maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of pipes and associated components.

MUST HAVE

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in pipefitting.

* Relevant certifications (e.g., welding certifications, pipefitting certifications).

* Strong understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

* Physical strength and stamina for lifting and carrying heavy pipes and equipment.

* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

* Attention to detail and precision in pipefitting tasks.
