Electrical Consulting Engineer

I am pleased to be working with a bespoke M&E Services Consultancy to recruit for an Electrical Engineer with experience in the FM industry to represent the client/landlord in the oversight of maintenance contract delivery and provide advisory services.

The role will include frequent site visits to carry out surveys and to assist in a technical advisory and support role to clients; managing building services maintenance contractors to ensure that they deliver services which are both appropriate and executed to a high standard.

Main purpose of the role:

* To undertake building services consultant duties in relation to Operational Engineering within buildings.

* Working for our clients on their managed property portfolios you will conduct a range of term consultancy responsibilities.

* From installation troubleshooting to condition surveying, design, specification and project management; the role will be varied, combining time in the office with time on site in equal measure.

* Identifying client needs and offering additional services to suit.

* Developing client base and our term consultancy building portfolio

ACCOUNTABILITIES:ENGINEERING & TECHNICAL

* Maintenance Management Support assist the client in managing contractor provision of the mechanical and electrical services.

* Design & Specification of project works, providing overall project management up to handover.

* Maintenance Contract Tendering tendering for new mechanical and electrical maintenance service contracts.

* Auditing attend site to inspect plantrooms, maintenance logbooks and report findings to client and contractor.

* Various other responsibilities will include liaising with specialists, budgeting advice, ad hoc site meetings and visits, troubleshooting, obtaining alternative quotations, surveying, attending contract meetings and providing advice to the client on all electrical and associated statutory compliance matters.

* Monitor the service provider to ensure that the building services assets are safely and efficiently maintained in line with the relevant contract and statutory requirements.

Person specification:

* Possessing HNC/HND Electrical/Building Services Engineering qualification preferable

* Previous experience in FM/Operational Engineering consultancy role(s) is not essential.

* Experience of electrical services design in the Building Services Engineering industry.

* Experience in the tendering and management of hard FM maintenance contracts would be an advantage.

* Ability to write clear and concise reports.

* Ability to guide and consult with various specialist contract suppliers.

* Ability to work to deadlines and balance priorities.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).

* Proficient in DIALux/Relux and Trimble (Amtech)
