We are recruiting for Machine Setters / Operators to work at our clients' site in Kirkintilloch, Glasgow.

Opportunity for progression What to expect as a Machine Setter / Operator
Carrying out machine set up / changeovers based on specific parameters relating to individual customer / job requirements
Mixing paints / chemicals / raw materials to exact specifications - following process / work instruction to ensure finished product meets required standards
Picking materials required to run process ensuring accurate booking in / booking out of materials
Maintaining quality standards by carrying out regular checks and tests to ensure product conforms with current standards - making necessary system adjustments based on results
Accurately recording production data including machines settings, traceability of materials, scrap, machine downtime etc. using computerised systems and/or paperwork
Loading and unloading product, boxing, labelling and palletising in preparation for shipping to customer
Carrying out fault finding tasks and performing basic maintenance to resolve / rectify minor issues - escalating major faults to relevant maintenance teams
Compliance with regular housekeeping and maintenance tasks to sustain high levels of system performance
Carrying out cleaning and servicing tasks to a high standard to ensure no cross contamination during changeovers - use of various tools and materials to ensure cleaning at required standards
Contributing to the Continuous Improvement of the process and methods by the application of lean manufacturing principles
Working with minimum supervision to deliver the high standards required by the business however working overall as a member of a Cell / Team
Complying with strict Health & Safety processes and procedures to ensure work carried out in line with business H&S requirements
What we're looking for
Experience of setting up / operating machinery within a manufacturing / production environment
Experience of working within an environment driven by lean manufacturing principles
Basic maintenance / fault finding skills
