Hunter Mason's client is looking for an experienced building surveyor who is preferably RICS accredited to join their small, well-established team. Working on predominantly commercial and local authority jobs, the projects can range from £1M - £40M and can be across the country so working away will be required, however all expenses and travel will be covered.

Responsibilities:

* Undertake Building, Measured and Condition Surveys to formulate maintenance and improvement programmes.

* Assisting Building Surveyors on wide range of Contract Administration duties.

* Dealing with planning applications, building control, landlord and other parties for relevant approvals.

* Basic construction detailing and specification writing, including developing CAD skills.

* Assist in provision of professional advice on Building Regulations, Health & Safety, Asbestos, DDA, and other relevant legislation.

* Implementing company Quality Management and other processes on all projects.

* Awareness and compliance with Health & Safety, CDM Regulations 2015, Asbestos Regulations, and other appropriate legislation.

* Develop understanding of project cost and timetable.

* Assist in preparation of specification of work and contract documentation.

* Obtain technical information or prices for work.

* Developing skills on and undertaking building defect investigation.

* Prepare reports and assessments as required.

Essential attributes:

* Commercial sector experience focusing on the project aspects of the discipline but with the scope to provide full client advisory building consultancy.

* RICS or IOB qualification (or good level of APC progression)

* Excellent commercial acumen with client-facing and client advisory skills.

* The ability to work autonomously on a variety of commissions.

* Delivering on time, top specification and to budget.
