The Company
Our client is a world leader in the development and manufacture of specialist electronic instruments used in security applications. With a strong order book and global demand for their unique product portfolio, they seek a Production Engineer to complement the team.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, key responsibilities include:
* Oversee, devise and implement New Product Introduction (NPI) process from design to manufacture, test and product sustainability.
* Influence Design engineering on the importance of design for manufacture (DFM), test and ongoing maintenance support.
* Create, develop, maintain and refine manufacturing instructions.
* Influence and improve test instructions
* Ensure Test Procedures / Instructions and Test Equipment / Jigs align with the manufacturing/test regime.
* Identify needs and when appropriate, design and manufacture tools and jigs.
* Identify and implement workflow improvements.
* Maintain and administer ERP system, including part numbers and BOMs.
* Work closely with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers.
* Provide technical support to production staff.
About You
We seek an experienced Production Engineer to join a small, close-knit team. You will have a can do approach and be keen to implement changes that drive continuous improvement in the business through product delivery processes and quality.
You should have a good mix of the following skills and experience.
* New Product Introduction processes and techniques
* Lean / Six Sigma
* MS Office proficiency
* ERP Systems
* Experience in the electronics or electromechanical engineering field
* Analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
* Excellent communication skills
