Our client is part of a multi-billion-pound global organisation employing more than 70,000 staff in over 100 countries and are recognised market leaders in their niche manufacturing sector. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Business Improvement Manager / Continuous Improvement Manager to complement their established and professional production team covering the whole of the UK.
Reporting to the Area Production Manager and able to be based near either Manchester or Sheffield, the successful Continuous Improvement Manager candidate will be responsible for the identification, implementation, monitoring, measurement and delivery of improvements in all areas to support the production locations in order to achieve their year-on-year efficiency operational cost savings, identifying examples of Best Operating Practices and incorporating these into the business as a whole.
Additionally, you will use Six Sigma project methodology to identify problems, develop solutions, and quantify outputs and results and provide the management team with monthly reports of production sites performance against cylinder-filling & handling and cylinder testing KPIs and other key business improvement metrics.
Other responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
Supporting the adoption of technology and a digitalisation agenda through the identification of relevant technologies and the recognition of their potential for improvement supported by a business justification, and implementation
Identifying and delivering engineering projects aimed at improving the efficiency of filling systems and infrastructureTo be considered for this varied and challenging Continuous Improvement Manager role it is envisaged that you will hold a NEBOSH/IOSH Managing Safety Certificate (desirable but not essential) and at least 5 years demonstrable experience gained in an industrial manufacturing environment with Six Sigma and Lean application related experience and qualifications proving distinctly advantageous, along with both knowledge and understanding of the legal responsibilities (including the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH & COMAH) relating to engineering and maintenance operations.
Ideally you will possess detailed knowledge of SAP and compressed gas processes relating to cylinder operations and be able to demonstrate exceptional people, change management and influencing skills at all levels and experience in using these in a challenging and fast paced environment.
