Case Officer (Response Investigation Team) - Contract - Boston PE21 8QS
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Case Officer to join our Response Investigation Team. As a Case Officer, you will be at the forefront of our investigative efforts, handling a variety of cases that require your expertise and dedication.
Your role will involve working closely to support investigating officers within the Response Investigation Teams in gathering evidence and third-party material, and the preparation, development, and submission of prosecution files with regards to crimes relating to PIP1 investigations such as domestic abuse with law enforcement agencies, legal professionals, and our internal team to ensure a comprehensive and successful investigation process.
PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. UNFORTUNATELY, WE CANNOT CONSIDER ANYONE WHO DOES NOT MEET THIS REQUIREMENT.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit initial court files to the Crown Prosecution Service ensuring that they meet the standards specified in the Manual of Guidance. Prepare file upgrade for trials in line with the timescales in Better Case Management.
Request, view and obtain material from 3rd party organizations across Lincolnshire & in other counties.
Assist officers with monitoring video recorded interviews to obtain evidence from victims of crime.
Liaise with other police departments, police forces and outside agencies in relation to the gathering of evidence.
In conjunction with an investigating officer obtain evidence required as part of a post-charge action plan at the direction of CPS.
To assist officers within the Response Investigation Teams to gather evidence and prepare case files to go to court.
To take a victim-focused approach to all investigations. ensuring compliance with our obligations under the Victims Code of Practice (VCOP) and the Victim's Charter.
Monitor the continuity of evidence and exhibits in accordance with the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and force procedures.
Take supporting statements and prepare other documents in connection with the investigation of crime within the Response Investigation Team remit.
Attending court to aid the officer in the case or prosecutor, conduct enquiries requested by the court & provide other assistance as required.
Improve performance through promoting and valuing diversity, in line with the Force Diversity Strategy.To Be Successful:
Full UK Driving License
Business administration qualification or equivalent NVQ Level 2
Previous experience of providing a high-quality administration service
Previous experience of working with confidential/sensitive material
Previous experience of using Microsoft Office packages, i.e., Word, Excel and competent in the use of IT packages
Must be prepared to be subject to Management Vetting, in line with the Force Vetting Policy, and to undertake drug screening.
Communicates and presents information clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing avoiding jargon.
