My client, a well-known Trading organisation, is seeking an additional Java Engineer to join them in the City of London on a contract basis. This is an exciting time to join as the organisation is currently undergoing a huge transformation including the build of a new trading platform and the adoption of Automation/DevOps tools.
Financial Services experience is not a pre-requisite.
Role:
You will be joining a new team and working on a new innovative greenfield project. As a Java Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing software systems and applications. You will act as high-level decision influencer in the process of determining everything from design choices to technical standards, such as platforms, coding standards and tools.
The following are essential:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Software Development
Experience working with JVM based languages eg Java or Scala or Kotlin
Experience in: Enterprise messaging systems eg Kafka
Testing frameworks eg Unit, Mock, BDD, TDD, Automation
OOO/OOD concepts and design patterns & Micro-services
Spring Boot
SQL databases

Understanding of DevOps principles and practices
Passionate Agile and/or Scrum practitioner
Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
The following are desirable:
Hazelcast
noSQL or distributed databases (Redis, Couchbase etc)
Kubernetes and/or Docker
Daily Rate: Up to £600++ (depending on experience)
