Cast UK is supporting our client who is an established yet growing business who specialise in the manufacture and distribution of components. You will work as part of a Procurement team responsible for all aspects of product & service purchasing, ensuring customers needs are met through delivering the correct quality and price point.
The role is Monday to Friday with office hours either 8:30am - 5pm or 9am - 5:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
Lead regular meetings with key suppliers, ensuring PO's are placed accurately and delivery dates are achieved
Collaborate with suppliers to optimise stock and monitor production schedules
Procurement of materials using MRP & MPS data
Management of purchase orders, ERP data entry, and delivery plans
Negotiations with suppliers (price, lead times, MOQs) to ensure the best deal possible for the business
Exploration of new suppliers, products, and cost reduction initiatives.
Procurement of production equipment.
Research and sourcing of new suppliers as needed in instances where alternate suppliers are required
Work closely with wider business functions including R&D, Technical, Quality etc Key Skills
You will ideally be an established Buyer with a demonstrated background in supplier management and cost-saving initiatives
A background managing long-lead times (6 Months+) would be highly desirable, ideally in a component/ manufacturing environment
Strong IT Skills including Microsoft Office and ERP Systems (ideally SAP but not essential)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders Benefits
