Commercial Manager - Environmental and Water Remediation (Europe)
Background:
Phoslock Environmental Technologies of Australia (PET) is seeking a Commercial Manager to be based in Southern England to drive sales of Phoslock (and other products marketed by PET) across Europe. Phoslock is a lanthanum modified bentonite developed by Australia's foremost scientific research body, the CSIRO, for the removal of filterable reactive phosphorus from water bodies and sediment pore water. Over the past 15 years, Phoslock has been applied to more than 300 eutrophic lakes worldwide as a mitigation measure against blue-green algae. Job Description:
The position will entail the following:
Promote Phoslock and other PET products throughout Europe, utilising social media and other marketing platforms
Create sales opportunities and secure sales efficiently and appropriately
Analyse the market and develop the most appropriate sales networks utilising direct (preferred) or agent type networks to maximise PET's opportunities in the region
Follow up leads and opportunities to sell PET's products throughout Europe
Develop resources and infrastructure to optimise results
Work closely with the International Technical Team ensuring appropriate scientific rigour is applied to all projects and treatments
Develop strategies aimed at encouraging local and regional government authorities and water managers to treat impacted lakes
The successful applicant should possess the following skills and experience:
Demonstrated and proven record in sales development and management
Strong planning and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
Basic scientific knowledge in a related field such as water quality or lake management
Self-starting and autonomous
An extensive and well-developed network of contacts in relevant fields
An ability to work under pressure and trouble-shoot
An ability to speak languages other than English will be welcomed but is not a pre-requisite.
