Job Description:
As a Locum Band 7 Physiotherapist specializing in Pelvic Health, your role is to provide expert physiotherapy services to individuals with pelvic health conditions. Working on a temporary or contract basis, you will fill in for absent or vacant positions, delivering specialized care to patients experiencing pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and related conditions.
Responsibilities:
1.
Pelvic Health Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with pelvic health concerns, including pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and other pelvic floor dysfunctions. Use specialized assessment techniques to identify underlying issues and develop individualized treatment plans.

Treatment Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with patients to develop tailored treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, such as pelvic floor exercises, manual therapy, biofeedback, and pain management strategies.
3.
Pelvic Floor Muscle Training: Provide pelvic floor muscle training and education to patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction. Teach proper techniques for strengthening and relaxing pelvic floor muscles to improve control and reduce symptoms.
4.
Bladder and Bowel Management: Offer bladder and bowel management strategies to patients with incontinence or related issues. Provide guidance on fluid intake, toilet schedules, and lifestyle modifications to improve continence.
5.
Pain Management: Use various physiotherapy techniques to manage pelvic pain, including trigger point release, soft tissue mobilization, and relaxation exercises.
6.
Pre and Postnatal Care: Provide specialized physiotherapy support to pregnant and postpartum individuals, addressing musculoskeletal and pelvic health concerns related to pregnancy and childbirth.
7.
Patient Education: Educate patients about pelvic health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for self-management and symptom relief. Empower patients to actively participate in their care and make informed decisions about their health.
8.
Continence and Women's Health: Work with patients experiencing pelvic health issues related to women's health, including menopause-related symptoms, pelvic floor dysfunction after gynecological surgeries, and more.
9.
Collaborative Care: Liaise with other healthcare professionals, such as urologists, gynecologists, and colorectal surgeons, to provide comprehensive and integrated care for patients with complex pelvic health conditions.
10.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes measurement in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
11.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research, advancements, and best practices in pelvic health physiotherapy. Engage in professional development activities, such as attending relevant training, conferences, and workshops. Seek supervision and engage in reflective practice to ensure professional growth.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy.
* Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
* Significant experience as a Physiotherapist specializing in Pelvic Health.
* Advanced knowledge of pelvic health conditions, assessment techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
* Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-centered care skills.
* Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of comfort discussing pelvic health concerns.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work within a locum or temporary role.
* Adherence to professional ethics, confidentiality, and data protection regulations
