Our manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer. The role is offered as a full-time permanent position.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 pa

Location: Tonbridge, Kent

Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am -4.30 pm with 1hour for lunch and 2 x 20 min tea breaks.

The maintenance engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of machine maintenance and servicing within the production and packing areas. They will be required to set up plant equipment in preparation for the days production schedule while keeping downtime to minimum.

Preventative maintenance and servicing will form a key part of your role and you will be expected to liaise with and manage external service contracts for all plant and machinery while coordinating service visits for external maintenance engineers.

Maintenance Engineer responsibilities:

* Meeting the day-to-day maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and servicing of the plant machinery.

* Generally maintaining all plant equipment to maximise available production activities whilst ensuring a safe working environment in line with the company Health and Safety procedures.

* Ensuring that all pressure systems are safe to use and meet the statutory requirements (PSSR Pressure Systems Safety Regulations).

* Meeting the key targets of limiting downtime.

* Making recommendations for plant improvement in terms of safety and productivity.

* Adhering and improving health and safety and food safety policies and procedures.

* You will also be required to assist in production operational manufacturing and filling processes when not servicing equipment.

Maintenance Engineer skills and competencies:

* Apprenticeship/HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

* Previous maintenance experience preferred.

* Hands on approach with the technical expertise to make appropriate decisions for engineering tasks.

* Multi skilled Engineering, mainly mechanical but also electrical.

* Technically astute in diagnosing breakdowns, fault finding and decision making to minimalise downtime
