This is an exciting opportunity within a large secondary school within Greater Manchester. Starting on a temporary contract with the possibility of applying for the role on a permanent basis.
General Purpose of the Post To manage pupil admissions.
To deal with all matters relating to pupil attendance
To carry out clerical work and duties connected with the staff and pupils, in order to maintain the efficient running of the school Specific Duties Attendance
1. To receive registers and record attendance and absence explanations accurately on Sims
2. To monitor attendance and use Sims to generate letters requesting medical evidence and warning parents of the consequences of poor attendance when appropriate.
3. To contact parents if an explanation for absence is not received.
4. Under the guidance of the Headteacher, to complete all paperwork necessary for legal proceedings relating to poor attendance.
5. Follow the schools attendance policy.
6. To notify the Headteacher of any concerns regarding individual pupil attendance.
7. To respond appropriately to pupil requests for leave during the school term.
