Senior Quantity Surveyor

Project Based - Leicester

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and successful construction and development company operating across the UK. Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their strong commercial team managing high rise residential projects in the East and West Midlands.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record or managing multiple construction projects of £20m in value and above. They must also possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

* Manage the financial aspects of construction projects, including cost estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.

* Ensure that all projects are completed within budget and on time.

* Review and evaluate project contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

* Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

* Prepare and present reports and progress updates to senior management.

* Negotiate and liaise with clients (external and internal), contractors and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.

* Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues.

Requirements:

* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

* Minimum of 7 years experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a senior quantity surveyor role.

* In depth knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Strong communication and leadership skills.

* Proficient in the use of relavant software and tools such as Microsoft Excel and project management software.
