Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality French lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, following the national curriculum guidelines and promoting proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
2. Cultural Enrichment: Integrate cultural elements into language instruction, exposing students to the richness and diversity of French-speaking countries and fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
3. Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their linguistic development and attainment.
4. Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate instruction to accommodate the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, ensuring all learners are appropriately challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.
5. Language Immersion: Create opportunities for language immersion through authentic communication, interactive activities, and real-world contexts, enabling students to develop confidence and proficiency in using French.
6. Cross-Curricular Links: Collaborate with colleagues across subject areas to explore interdisciplinary connections and enhance the relevance and application of language learning within a broader educational context.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Specialisation in French language education or Modern Foreign Languages (MFL).
- Experience teaching French at Key Stages 3 and 4, with a thorough understanding of the national curriculum requirements and assessment frameworks.
- Passion for language teaching and a commitment to fostering students' linguistic skills, cultural awareness, and global citizenship.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
