Job Title: History Teacher

To start As soon as possible

Location: Telford, Shropshire

Employment Type: Full Time, Maternity Cover

Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds with the richness and complexity of history? Do you possess the skills and enthusiasm to engage students in exploring the past and understanding its relevance to the present?

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery: Deliver high-quality history lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, fostering their curiosity and critical thinking skills through the exploration of historical events, themes, and concepts.

Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic development.

Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring all learners are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.

Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, maintaining high standards of behaviour and mutual respect.

Collaborative Planning: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the History department and across the school to develop and enhance the history curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching approaches and resources.

Extra-Curricular Engagement: Encourage student participation in history-related extracurricular activities, such as debates, historical societies, and field trips, to deepen their interest and engagement with the subject.

Qualifications and Experience

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

- Specialisation in History or related field.

- Experience teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum requirements and assessment frameworks.

- Passion for history and a commitment to inspiring students through engaging and challenging teaching methods.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
