We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at a partnering School in Telford.

This full-time position suited for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and support students in their English language and literature studies at the GCSE level!

Job Title - English Teacher

Location -Telford

Position Type - Full-Time, Long-Term (Immediate Start)

Key Stage KS3, GCSE

Responsibilities

* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons that align with the GCSE curriculum requirements.

* Differentiate teaching strategies and resources to accommodate the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.

* Conduct regular formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.

* Teach students to critically analyse and interpret a range of literary texts, including prose, poetry, and drama, fostering their appreciation and understanding of literary techniques and themes.

* Support students in developing their writing skills across a variety of genres and forms, providing guidance on structure, style, and language conventions to help them communicate effectively and creatively.

* Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to participate actively in lessons.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department and across other subject areas to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.

Requirements

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in English or a related field.

- Proven experience teaching English at the GCSE level, preferably within a UK secondary school setting.

- Strong subject knowledge across English language and literature, with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, with a proactive approach to professional development and continuous improvement.
