Job title: Senior Contracts Manager,

Highways Vegetation Management and Arb

Main purpose of job:

Develop and maintain meaningful relationships to further develop the dept works of the business.

Manage and oversee the office and yard operations.

To act as framework manager for the national highways SDF in areas 6&8.

To plan and create RAMS to ensure safety and completion of contracted jobs on time and within agreed budgets.

Main duties

To work with other senior managers to ensure smooth efficient delivery of contracts within the department. Overall responsibility for quoting, programming and ensuring all projects are completed to a high standard, on time and on budget.

1. Develop and maintain lucrative contracts within the sector. Specifically, the national highways SDF & HS2 works.

2. Support Contract Managers/supervisors within the department as required.

3. Manage contracts developed form these relationships from planning through to completion.

4. Obtain competitive quotations for materials and sub contract services as identified and required.

5. Be responsible for the overall budgets for these contracts.

6. Be responsible for the management of the operatives (including setting them up for jobs and sending them out of the yard) dealing with day to day issues and liaising with HR as appropriate (including recruitment and disciplinary issues).

7. Create RAMS in line with specifications, ensuring detailed and clear instruction is provided and health and safety is paramount.

8. Liaise with colleagues to ensure resources are available, training is up to date and all plant/materials needed are resourced in good time.

9. Provide weekly feedback to the management and commercial meetings on developments and requirements.

10. Ensure environmental compliance.

11. Be a proactive member of the senior management in regard to process and procedure planning and implementation.
