Our client are a well respected house builder and they are looking to recruit an Architectural Technician to join the busy technical team in Birmingham
Experience
You should have a technical qualification in a relevant architectural field, strong technical knowledge is a must have, this includes the ability to produce detailed drawings
You should also be able to use CAD and Adobe suite should they be required to help other members of the team to meet the wider workload.
Be conversant in the application and requirements of Building Regulations, Local Planning Authority Requirements and CDM within the volume housebuilder sector, if they have worked for a housebuilder previously this would be ideal, mindful of those that may have been affected by the recent Barratt/Redrow merger.
Ability to confidently coordinate design information and respond to on-site design queries for the duration of the build.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the delivery of working drawing packages that are produced in Revit so should have this proficiency, but will be working alongside two existing architectural technicians.
Provide architectural support and technical guidance for regional teams
Preparation of working drawings and ancillary details along with bespoke units
Register, resolve and monitor where appropriate site queries from production management to enable progressive product development
Design economically and understand the commercial aspects of design decisions
All designs to be compliant with Building Regulations, local Planning Authority requirements and CDM implications considered
Co-ordinate and manage the issue of technical documentation
Commission, coordinate and check various specialist suppliers designs and integrate their requirements into the working drawing packages
