Maintenance Engineer

Mildenhall, Suffolk

Monday- Friday (40-45 hours per week, flexible hours)

£30,000 - £40,000

Our client based in Mildenhall is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to join their team. You will be familiar with Production machinery, particularly Lathe machines and experience of performing a maintenance role within a production environment.

You will have a very good mechanical aptitude and be capable of stripping down machines to replace items such as bearings, conveyor belts and other wear parts.

* To assist the Lathe Area Department in maintaining 16 Multispindle Lathe Machines and Ancillary Equipment.

* To diagnose faults with Machines and Equipment.

* To strip down Machines and Equipment when necessary to replace mechanical wear parts.

* To complete and update tasks using a Maintenance based software.

* To support and assist with Service Engineer visits.

* To determine spare part requirements to maintain production on a 24/7 basis.

* To investigate and where possible offer suggestions for improvements and/or cost reductions.

* To assist other areas of the business in a Maintenance role as and when required.

What we are looking for:

* Have experience in using a range of general workshop machinery and equipment.

* Be familiar with Production Machinery, particularly Lathe Machines, and also have at least 5-10 years experience of performing a Maintenance role within a production environment.

* Very good mechanical aptitude and be capable of stripping down Machines to replace items, such as Bearings, Conveyor Belts and other wear parts.

* Disciplined, self-motivated and be able to work as both an individual and as part of a team.

* Required to work outside of normal working hours as and when necessary.

* Show flexibility and support to other areas of the business in a Maintenance role when needed.

* Have strong communication skills, being able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
