Our client, a leading producer in thier field, is on the lookout for a Metallurgical Technician. The ideal candidate will require experience using metallographic techniques.

This is working a pattern of 15 shifts on a 3 weekly cycle - 12 hour days and nights

The Role

* Reporting to the Shift Team Leader

* Undertake a variety of tests that include metallographic and mechanical techniques

* Support investigations from other business functions

* Assist in maintaining compliance to standards

* Follow health and safety procedures

* You will ensure that safe working practices are always adhered to, while testing materials, ensuring they conform to prescribed international and customer standards and order requirements.

Required

* HNC level or equivalent in Metallurgy / Materials

* Must be able to use MS Office 365 applications

* Show understanding and have the ability to recognize steel structures.

* The job holder shall have previous experience of SPCs and able to address/escalate instances or trends which may result in loss of control.

* Self-motivated individual

* Flexibility to work across a variety of testing disciplines is a must.

* Excellent communication skills and someone who is confident speaker

* Punctual, reliable and flexible
