CMM Operator

Based in the Finishing Department

Reporting to : NDT Manager.

Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the inspection of machined forgings.

Main Function of Job:

* Loading and unloading the CMM machine in line with safety and quality guidelines.

* Setting and operating the CMM machine.

* Use of other measuring equipment i.e. height gauges, calipers, micrometers etc.

* Checking and communicating any changes required.

* Part marking using the dot peen method

* Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

Essential:

* Attention to detail.

* Experience in working in a manufacturing environment.

* The ability to work on own initiative after training.

* Evidence of effective eye sight to pass annual eye test.

* Educated to 5 GCSEs A-C, including Maths and English.

Desirable:

* Experience in visual inspection.

* Experience in inspecting forgings.

* Competent working knowledge of D-MIS, CMM program and other windows-based data systems
