We are looking for Paediatric Nurse with previous experience in a UK Hospital setting - we have a temporary role in Preston and Bolton area. This is an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Nurse who enjoys new challenges and wants to take their career a step further.
This is a great opportunity for a nurse looking for work within an NHS setting on a flexible part time or full time basis or to supplement your current role. Adhoc/bank shifts.
The position involves working in the children's ward, diagnosing children with illnesses or injuries or might work in the children's intensive care unit, caring for children who have been involved in serious accidents and who are suffering from a severe illness. Duties may include:
* Planning and assessing children's nursing care requirements
* Offering guidance to parents about how to best care for their sick child
* Administering injections, medication and infusions
* Diagnosing and treating day-to-day child illnesses
* Taking samples from patients
* Checking on the condition and progress of patients
* Monitoring patients' pulse and blood pressure
* Providing emotional support to patients
* Obtaining parental consent for specific treatments
* Handling accidents and emergencies
* Supervising student nurses and junior staff
* Writing records
