Company Profile: We are working with a leading civil engineering contractor with a regional base in South Wales. The company delivers infrastructure projects within the range of £5 million to £30 million. They are currently working on several framework agreements and are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner/Planning Manager, capable of progressing into a regional planning role.

Job Description:

As a Senior Planner, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our projects. Working closely with preconstruction teams, project managers, and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans using Microsoft Project / Primavera P6. Your role will involve overseeing multiple projects simultaneously within the framework agreements, ensuring that accurate programmes are produced, and regularly updated to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning: Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives, milestones, and resource requirements.

2. Resource Management: Collaborate with project teams to identify resource requirements and allocate resources efficiently to ensure optimal project execution.

3. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.

4. Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress against baseline schedules, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.

5. Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate project plans, progress, and potential issues to stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and senior management.

6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that project plans comply with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

7. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project planning processes, tools, and methodologies.

Requirements:

1. Bachelors degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

2. Proven experience as a Senior Planner within the civil engineering or construction industry, with a track record of successfully delivering projects ranging from £5 million to £30 million.

3. Proficiency in project planning software, particularly Microsoft Project & Primavera P6

4. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management methodologies.

5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
