Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a Electrical Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing company based in Telford.
The company are a privately owned business with over 30 years experience offering solutions for all aspects of their specialised sector.
As the Electrical Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for working on your own initiative, you will electrical fault find, diagnose and repair equipment using appropriate test equipment and tools.
If you have previously worked as a Maintenance Electrician in a fast moving production environment, hold a 17th Edition certificate and have a good working knowledge of fault finding and programming PLCs, then this could be the role for you.
Job Role:
* Maintain all machinery to provide optimum functionality.
* Attend breakdowns and conduct effective and efficient fault finding to resolve component failures.
* Ensure that electrical maintenance tasks are completed on time in full.
* Fully understand the operational protocols associated with alarm conditions.
* Responsible as first contact point in the event of a fire and to provide accurate and relevant information.
* To support and fully utilise a Computer Maintenance Management System on a daily basis adhering to accurate control of stock.
* Escalate crisis management by effectively providing the business with accurate assessments and constructive solutions where appropriate.
* Undertake upgrades and installations.
* To ensure that all preventative maintenance tasks are conducted in a timely fashion and documented accurately.
* Provide accurate root cause for all breakdown incidents and corrective actions to resolve and restore functionality.
* Provide suggestions for improvement concepts and ideas which will reduce breakdown and/or time to repair.
* Test and inspect electrical systems.
Hours:
* 3 days on shift - 1 day off- 3 nights on shift - 3 days off - 4 days on shift - 7 days off - 4 nights on shift - 3 days off
* Each shift is 12 hours from 8 until 8.
* The working week is 42 hours, which is averaged out over a 52-week period.
* There is also a 5-week cover period, which is taken in turns with all 5 shift Electricians and potentially gives you two lots of this during a full year.
* During the cover period if any of the shifts are booked as holiday you would automatically drop into that rota.
* If no holidays are booked during the cover period, then the week consists of Monday to Thursday 8.5 hours and an 8-hour day on Friday.
Skills Needed:
* Hold a currently 17th/18th Edition
* Minimum of 5 yrs experience working in an electrical manufacturing environment
* Excellent communication skills to effectively liase with colleagues, management, suppliers and manufacturers
* Ability and experience interpreting technical drawings
* PC literate PC and MS office skills
* A willingness to learn new technology and systems, attending training courses when required.
* Experience with fault finding and adapting PLCs programs
