The Company
One of the UKs leading providers of planned and responsive maintenance services in the social housing sector, maintaining over 500,000 homes nationwide every year. Due to the increase in work they are looking for An Assistant Quantity Surevyor to help support the team within this role.
The Role
* Working within repairs and maintenance or planned works projects
* Control of costs from procurement to Final Account for all aspects of cost.
* Administration of Sub-Contracts and production of internal valuations.
* Calculating how much a proposed project will cost
* Researching prices and collecting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
* Monitoring inflation and exchange rates
* Checking the clients requirements
* Assisting in submitting bids for work
* Reviewing ongoing projects to make sure costs stay in line with forecasts
* Drawing up detailed and accurate price lists for everything needed on a construction project
* Considering risk assessments and health and safety requirements
* Prepare full enquiry pack, collating all tender information, ensuring fully compliant tender packs are issued
* Analyse tenders upon return to ensure compliant bids are received
* Ensure all health and safety information is signed off prior to placing orders
* Attend sites regularly and frequently to provide assistance and support to site staff
What you need to succeed
To be a successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor within this role, you will have strong experience working for social housing contractors/ housing associations.
You will be accustomed to working on a similar sites and relevant refurbishments or planned maintenance schemes.
* Minimum of 2 years Quantity Surveyor experience
* Driving license is essential
* Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying
* Asbestos Awareness UKATA or IATP, CIOB & RICS Preferable
