- Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm with occasional Saturdays
Halo Recruit are working in partnership with a well established local mehcanics garage who pride themselves on offering the highest levels of customer service, providing a friendly and personal experience to all our customers both new and old.
They are now seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to assist in providing this high quality and efficient vehicle service. Working as part of a team, this role offers you the opportunity to be put your expertise to use. We are looking for strongly value led individuals with excellent judgement and decision making skills. The individual must be highly resilient and capable of being challenged.
Who Were Looking For
The successful candidate will:
* Be an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician with a Level 3,equivalent or time served.
* Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and customers accurately and concisely
* Be passionate about the industry and committed to the development of their technical knowledge and skills
* Be customer-focused, able to keep customers satisfaction and safety in mind throughout the service, diagnosis or repair
* Enjoy working as part of a team assist other technicians when the workshop is under pressure and take ownership of any safety issues they identify in the workshop
* Be thorough and able to work with defined processes and guidelines
* Be open to try new methods of work designed to improve efficiency
* Have a focus on quality with a first-time fix mentality.
* Be honest with high levels of integrity
* Have outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
* Have excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
* Hold a full UK driving licence
Key Duties
* Undertake the timely Diagnosis and repair of fleet and customer vehicles in accordance with the brands technical standards.
* Complete scheduled vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines
* Undertake diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for fleet and customer vehicle issues
* Undertake vehicle road testing for diagnosis and to test roadworthiness after repairs.
* Ensure all documentation, either manually or electronically, has been completed for a vehicle.
* Work closely with the service team and ensuring they are kept informed of the progress of work.
* Communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
* Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all workshop customers
* Obtain appropriate authorisation if additional work is required on a vehicle.
* Build and maintain a high level of technical competence for diagnosing and servicing vehicles
* Offer technical advice and support to workshop apprentices and technicians.

*UPTO 10 Saturdays per year covering sickness/holidays

£29,000-£37,000, depending on experience.
