Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Learner Mentor at our Crawley campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £23,264 - £25,424 Pro Rata.
The Learner Mentor role:
You will need to be an outstanding, passionate and organised individual to provide a high level of mentoring support to our 19+ high need students to ensure their journeys at College exceed their expectations and achieve our goal of remaining Outstanding.

Key Responsibilities of our Learner Mentor:
Motivating the individual learner and to monitor his/her progress in, and response to, their learning, encouraging personal evaluation, reflection and target setting, using value added to measure progression.
To set in liaison with individual students, challenging SMART targets in relation to new measures of success using the relevant College management information systems.
Rigorously tracking and monitoring the attendance of each student within this cohort of learners and where necessary, take appropriate action to rectify poor individual performance. This will/may include sustained liaison with the student.
To identify student needs and facilitate access to appropriate services to aid achievement, such as additional support, careers' advice and the enrichment programme.
Liaising with subject Lecturers, Study Programme Leaders and Heads of Learning on issues, working in accordance to the Student Referral Policy where appropriate.
Complying administration procedures and adhere to set deadlines such as: reviews, UCAS, references, ALIS and/or new measures of success for which training will be provided.
To play a key role within the "student journey" process.
Our ideal Learner Mentor should have the below skills and experience:
A level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
Experience supporting young people with Additional Needs
Delivering mentoring sessions to students in a 1:1 or group situation
Detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Education, Health and Care Plans
