SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time/37 hours per week
Salary: From £46,400 per annum, depending upon experience
Location: Maidenhead, Head Office based
About the Role
We have a new opportunity for a highly motivated individual with considerable operational experience to join our Estates team as Sustainability Manager. This exciting challenge will provide an opportunity to lead and embed environmental sustainability into all our global operations, including horticultural and conservation care, maintenance of our cemeteries and memorials and also our vehicle fleet, travel and staff facilities and buildings. You will develop and implement an environmental sustainability strategy setting out a clear programme of activity to reduce energy and carbon emissions and advise on adapting our global policies and processes to meet climate risk challenges and drive greater sustainability across the Organisation.
About You:
With a degree in a relevant subject, e.g. environmental management, or equivalent qualification, you will also have extensive knowledge of environmental sustainability, energy saving and climate change reduction and significant experience working as an environmental management practitioner within a large and complex organisation. A good understanding of the relevant grants, funding and other income streams available to support sustainability/energy saving projects is essential, together with budget planning and monitoring. You will have persuasive skills and be adept at providing evidence to support proposals and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and other subject matter experts. You will be familiar and confident with overseas travel, as this role will require you to undertake periodic visits to our overseas sites. This will enable you to gain an overall range of the full range of responsibilities for the role and meet our operational teams.

Home Working
During the current Covid-19 situation we are working from home and will return to the office in line with UK Government advice and guidance. You will be expected to work at the office when required.
Travel to Head Office
You must be within a reasonable commute from our Head Office at 2 Marlow Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 7DX. Maidenhead train station, town centre bus stops, on-road parking and public car parks are located approximately ten minutes' walk from the office.
