Urgent Care Germantown seeks to hire an experienced scheduler who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
Scheduler is responsible for the primary function of receiving, scheduling, tracking, and assisting all inbound and outbound calls that come into the call center queue or the Electronic Schedule Request System. Other duties as assigned.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Schedule patients based on protocols while providing excellent customer service. Receive, schedule and track all patient phone calls or electronic requests that come to the scheduling department.
2. Check email and voicemail regularly for updates.
3. Returns all patient phone calls in the voicemail queue and individual voicemail box.
4. Sends, receives and distributes faxes and reports as necessary.
5. Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information.
6. Schedules all patients in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and regulations for all AdventistHealthCare Outpatient Imaging centers.
7. Assists patients with customer service related issues as they arise.
8. Calls the primary care physician's office if there is a concern about a patient's request.
9. Alerts Patient Access Manager of any systems issues or malfunctions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
-Knowledge of medical terminology or radiology terminology background.
-Proficient PC Skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office and utilizing the Internet.
-Must be able to type a minimum of 35 w.p.m.
-Ability to use office related machines (copier, fax, computer, and printer)
-Excellent customer service skills
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
1-2 years or more of medical office experience.
